Register early for the 3rd Annual Holiday Homes on Parade. We hope to make this year’s production the biggest ever! Please download the application for the contest (there is no charge to enter) and fax it back to us at (520) 568-9120, scan and email to lights@cityofmaricopa.net or simply drop it off in person at City Hall (Mon-Fri 8am to 5pm).
Holiday Homes on Parade is designed to capture the holiday spirit. The event needs 75 families who will agree to brighten the exterior of their homes with lights and decorations, but NO music. All interested families must register with the Parks and Recreation Department no later than Wednesday, November 22. This allows enough time for signs and maps to be printed. If you’re planning to decorate your home this season you should definitely enter the contest!
Decorations must be in place by Monday, November 26. Starting on that date, through Friday, December 14, residents can drive around, following a map provided by the city, view the decorations and vote for Residents Choice. A committee of ten judges will grade all entries and cast their vote. Residents are encouraged to vote in one of two ways: email the contestant number to lights@cityofmaricopa.net or vote in person at City Hall.
The top prize this year will be a $500 gift certificate for Best on Parade, a $300 gift certificate for Residents Choice and $100 each for Most Creative, Best Use of Color, Best Theme and Best Light Show.
Start planning now. How many lights will you need? Where should the snowman be placed? Is there room for all the reindeer, even Rudolph? Be a participating home in Maricopa’s annual Holiday Homes on Parade.
